Thomas Sebastian ’63

Thomas Sebastian ’63 has served as the Southeast Regional Mentor Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Institute for Instructional Coaching and a consultant for the Penn Literacy Network. Tom started his career in education in 1968 as a business education teacher at BOK AVTS. During his 29 years with the School of Philadelphia, he served as a teacher, department head at Southern High, assistant principal at Pickett Middle School and West Philadelphia High School. Administrative assistant to the District Four Superintendent, and principal of Northeast High School. For most of his career in Philadelphia, Mr. Sebastian, also worked with the Standard evening High School as a teacher and ultimately as an evening school principal. In 1997, Tom left the Philadelphia School District to accept a position of Jenkintown Middle/High School. He went on to serve as the principal of Penncrest High School from 2000 to 2005. After retiring from the principalship, he accepted a position with Foundations, Inc. as a Leadership Mentor and later as the Director of the Pennsylvania High School Coaching Initiative. Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Temple University and his master’s degree from Villanova University.
