Peter Carrieri ’50

Pete’s career in football at Southern started in 1948 when he was voted to the All-Public Team. He repeated that in 1949 and was added to the All-Scholastic squad. At Villanova University, Pete was an All-East Lineman in 1952. He graduated Villanova in 1954 and was drafted and signed by the Washington Redskins. But entered the Military, instead and was stationed in Germany. Peter was a player and coach for the Western Area Command Football Team, compiling a record of 11 wins and 1 loss. After teaching school in New Jersey for 13 years, he then owned a property and casualty business, retiring in 1995. Peter was inducted into the SPHS Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
