John Anthony Fratto captained SPHS’s Fencing teams in the early 1950’s. He went on to Temple University where he captained Temple’s Fencing team to the Middle Atlantic Foil Championship. He was the Individual Middle Atlantic Foil Champion. John was chosen Philadelphia Amateur Fencing League Foil Champion and chosen Philadelphia Amateur Fencing League Foil Champion for 3years. He practiced law after graduating Temple in South Jersey. He was appointed Superior Court Judge and served 20 years on the bench. John Fratto was inducted in the SPHS Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.
