Mathew, Judge Court of Common Please First District has held that position since 1995. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Temple Law School in ’71. Matt holds many titles as a member of the South Philadelphia Community and its civic activities. A member of the’64 class, he was in the National Honor Society, on the varsity Golf Team and a member of Southern ’s famous orchestra. Until he was elected Judge of Common Pleas, Matt was a Merit selection appointee, Chief Sworn Officer in the city of Brotherly Love. Judge Carrafiello’ s roots are deeply embedded in South Philly as he has lived and raised his family here. Matt has been a member of the Executive Board of the Alumni Association. He was inducted into the SPHS Cultural Hall of Fame in 2007.
