Dr. Sidney Clearfield ’57 was one of the most respected Jewish organizational leaders with degrees from Temple, Penn and the Catholic University of America. In 1991, Sid was appointed director of B’nai B’rith International, the world’s largest Jewish organization covering US and Canada. His tenure at BBYO expanded to Europe. Israel, Australia, and South America. He led Departments for Disaster Relief, Housing for low-income Senior Citizens. Human Rights Advocacy , Public Policy,and Cultural Development as well as the parent of Hillel Houses on college campuses. He was a leader in bringing restitution to Holocaust survivors. Sidney traveled the world and met four U.S. Presidents, various ministers and government officials and leaders.
