Dr. Edmund Forte ’49 after graduating from West Chester University in 1953, he began his professional career as a teacher of mathematics and physical sciences at Vare Jr. High School. In 1965 he was appointed Vice-Principal of Fitz-Simons Jr High. He then was appointed principal of Francis Scott Key school. Ed held various director positions which had his responsible for overseeing benchmark programs for underachieving children. He was also involved in Parent Partnerships, Grant Distributions, and Academic Resource Centers. Ed has been Principal of Fels and was appointed as District Superintendent of District Seven. He retired in 1993. Many of Ed’s outside activities were associated with Italian organizations which always had a common theme of education. He was a part of a group that created the Columbus Forum Italian Educators Lodge. He became the President of this organization which was later recognized by the Sons of Italy.
