David Beloff ’24

David Beloff was an all-around athlete at Southern and Temple University- a Champion Boxer and star in football, baseball, and basketball.
two years. He was selected ALL Public High School end in 1922 and 1923 and was chosen all Philadelphia Scholastic Endi. He won the latter championship after playing in a varsity football game in the afternoon and defeating two opponents in the semi and final bouts.At Temple University he played varsity football for one season, and varsity boxing for four years.

He played professional football for Atlantic City and the Philadelphia Quakers. After graduation from Temple University, he coached the Temple University Boxing varsity teams in 1925 to 1938. He was coach of the only Eastern Collegiate Boxing Championship Team, Temple
University, in 1932.

Has been varsity football coach at Franklin High School since 1940. Also was assistant coach of the track team Franklin High School, was varsity gymnastic coach and Athletic Director at Franklin High School. Was Pennsylvania Boxing Commission referee for 26 years, having refereed several championship bouts. HE has been associated with summer camps since 1922 and owner and director of camps for 20 years. He was the Athletic Director at Simon Gratz High School (1963).
