Bill Rankin ’62

Bill Rankin ’62 played varsity football for two years as a center and long snapper. There were no punt returns for two years by the opposition. He was the starting center on the 1961 Public League Championship teams. Bill received four scholarship inquiries for his play on the ’61 All Public Team. When Bill played on the Junior Varsity Teams, they were 6-1. He dressed for three Thanksgiving Day football games and participated in two. He also played varsity basketball during his time at Southern High School. Bill is married to Maria Hahn also, a SPHS Alumnae. He served as head coach for St. Dennis CYO in Havertown for 8th grade football for 20 years.
