A special wreath-laying ceremony took place at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC on March 29th.  The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a wall that contains the names of the over 58,000 soldiers who died or who are listed as missing in action while in Vietnam. The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of Defense, Ashton Carter, and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Robert A. Mc Donald. It was part of the commemoration of the war’s 50th anniversary that took place all over the country at 550 various VA facilities to honor Veterans of the Vietnam War. A wreath was placed to honor those who served in Vietnam and made the ultimate sacrifice. Fasolo participated and was honored to receive a special coin as a representative of the Vietnam Era Veterans who were at The Wall.

Fasolo is a 1955 graduate of South Philadelphia High school for boys. He went on to Temple University where, in 1959, he received a degree in Education and a commission in the U. S. Army. He is now retired from the Army and serves as a substitute teacher in the Loudoun County Virginia School System.

Any Vietnam Era Veteran who would like a lapel pin should contact their local commemorative partner or the commemorative committee through the web site http://www.vietnamwar50th.com
